Interactive Support Systems (ISS) take the place of traditional online-help systems. Instead of providing users with flat information about what your application does, the ISS provides users with dynamic, interactive information about how to use the application to do their jobs!

Topics are organized in the ISS by process. Each process is a common task done by users regularly. The user is then guided through a simulation of the task, enabling them to refresh their memory or learn on the job, in a safe and guided environment. No need for trial and error in the live application…all practice takes place before the user performs the action in the live application!
